FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHETHER YOUR ATLAS IS MISALIGNED?

Based just on your symptoms, it’s not possible to state for sure whether your Atlas is misaligned or not.  But if you meet with our Atlas Realignment practitioner, they can determine whether your Atlas is out of alignment.  If it isn’t, then you won’t need to pay anything at all.  Usually, X-rays aren’t necessary.  In certain instances, a computed tomography (CT) scan can assist in a diagnosis – but you need a technician trained in setting up the CT machine for the specific settings required and a radiologist who’s able to accurately evaluate the results.  The easiest way is to get your Atlas assessed by our trained practitioner who can quickly and effectively conduct treatment if required.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NECESSARY?

The Atlas-Sphenoid realignment treatment is carried out in JUST ONE SESSION (some rare situations may require an additional treatment).  In the event of future accidents, trauma or severe/ongoing stress, it’s wise to get your Atlas-Sphenoid checked for misalignment.

IS ATLAS-SPHENOID REALIGNMENT DANGEROUS?

Our Atlas-Sphenoid realignment treatment doesn’t include any neck or spinal manipulations or twisting.  No ‘cracking’, ‘popping’, twisting or bending is needed.  The treatment process is gentle and relaxing – and you’ll feel the difference usually immediately.  We will take ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos so that you can see the difference.  You may experience a little muscle soreness over the next 24 hours – this is because the muscles of your neck and back will be adjusting to their new – and natural – positions.  They may not be used to this and may take some time getting used to their proper location.  That’s great news – it’s further evidence that the Atlas-Sphenoid realignment is working!  Some people experience muscle soreness for a short time after their Atlas-Sphenoid Realignment Treatment – especially those whose Atlas-Sphenoid has been out of alignment for some time.  It takes a period of time for your muscles, tendons and other connective tissue (as well as your nerves and bones) to adjust to their new positions – so be patient, improvement will come.  Warm baths and gentle massages help in these instances.

CAN AN OSTEOPATH OR CHIROPRACTOR REALIGN THE ATLAS-SPHENOID?

There is a big difference between the processes used by a chiropractor or an osteopath and the Atlas-Sphenoid realignment.  Our Atlas-Sphenoid realignment process is gentle and won’t twist or ‘crack’ your back or neck – and the best part is, it’s LONG LASTING, so there’s no need to return like you do with a chiropractor or osteopath.

CAN THE ATLAS SHIFT OUT OF PLACE AGAIN AFTER TREATMENT?

In most cases, your Atlas-Sphenoid Realignment requires ONLY ONE TREATMENT and is 95% PERMANENT.  In rare cases, either the Atlas or Sphenoid may return to the previous incorrect position, or to a position somewhere between the correct position and the one before treatment.  In such cases it may be because the Atlas or Sphenoid was deformed over time through years of bad positioning; a new trauma (such as a car accident, fall or sports injury); surgery which required intubation; or hyper mobility of the joints.  Sometimes extreme or persistent emotional stress can stiffen the muscles of the neck and head so much that the Atlas becomes misaligned again.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU FEEL THE ATLAS-SPHENOID HAS BECOME MISALIGNED AGAIN?

Some people, once they get their Atlas-Sphenoid realigned, worry that it will easily become misaligned again.  Sleeping, turning your head and normal lifestyle activities (including most sports) won’t affect the positioning of your Atlas-Sphenoid, so you can relax.  Only be concerned if you’ve experienced one of the traumas listed above – then come in and get your Atlas-Sphenoid tested and realigned again if needed.

WHAT IF THE ATLAS-SPHENOID REALIGNMENT DOESN’T WORK?

The vast majority of patients experience immediate, and lasting, positive health changes.  For some people, especially those whose Atlas has been misaligned for many years, it may take a while for the body to adjust to the new body position – and to reap the full benefits of the treatment.  Be patient and allow sufficient time for the procedure to take full effect.  For some patients, this takes weeks as their bodies slowly adjust and respond to the new skeletal position.  But if you have any concerns, please contact us.  If, after some time, you are still experiencing muscle pain and skeletal problems – and we’ve confirmed that your Atlas-Sphenoid is in the correct position, then you’ll need to look at other possible causes of your health issues.

REACTIONS AFTER ATLAS-SPHENOID CORRECTION

After Atlas-Sphenoid Realignment treatment, the body may experience certain reactions, indicating that self-healing is proceeding at full pace.  Not everyone has reactions after treatment, but it’s important to be aware of this possibility.  These reactions are temporary, and they demonstrate that your body is adjusting to the proper body position.

When your Atlas-Sphenoid has been realigned properly, muscles and connective tissue, as well as bones and joints – are impacted and change accordingly.  This is great – but it can bring some pain – as many of these body parts are not used to being in this new, better position.  So it will take time for them to adjust.  For some people, this ‘adjustment’ period can take a couple of months – and the changes may be noticeable all the way through that period.  For others, they may experience none – or only minor, passing symptoms.   Massages and warm baths, along with the special gift ‘Integration Drops’ you’ll receive at the end of your treatment will help.  Possible reactions include: a few days of acute tiredness and increased need for sleep; muscle stiffness or pain in the neck, back or lumbar region – or pains in the knee and hip joints due to the adjustment of the previously tilted pelvis.  On the plus side – you will likely have better sleep, a reduced sense of stress – and many patients report an increase in height!
